Update:
1) I'm working through these in the order they occur in the comments. Comment to this post if you want to queue up.
2) If you haven't requested a slot, I'm just assigning one randomly. If you don't like your slot, speak quickly before people start uploading your image to that spot.
3) Anybody having a complaint about their image will be shot.
4) Anybody who is shot will receive prompt medical care*.
5) There is no number 5.
6) I'm working on an FAQ. Look for it this week.
7) Seriously, if there's a problem with your image just let me know and we'll take care of business.
8) I'm a total hack at image work. Anybody who is good at this and wants to contribute is welcome to be added on as an author. Hit me in the chat.

During donkament last Friday Julius Goat and I had a chat about table image and creating our own Avatars rather than saving up 1 Million points to create. Saturday discussion continued and we also determined that FullTilt software updates may not overwrite existing avatars so an idea of a repository of custom avatars was born. In general we have also noticed that the "confused" emotion is not used continuously by many players.
Anyone else interested in using a custom avatar amongst the community should add comment to FAQ post requesting slot then Julius or I will add as blog contributers so you can announce your own avatar. Those without artwork skills may still request an avatar be created and will wait until Julius or I have the time (and I have developed the skills) to create.
Make request in comments, for those including own artwork provide pointer to picture on blog.

1) i think eeyore would be a great avatar, but i have been informed by one of this blog's contributors that he is too passive to be my avatar
2) a cute but aggressive looking gummi bear would then be my second choice

I wish I had better artwork skillz, I just figured out dimensions and tried to resize the pics, my Homer avatar looks a little awkward.
Have either of you figured out how to overwrite the felt on the FT table? I did a dharma design as the background, and I wanted to stick the "swan" symbol on the table. I found the race-track and circle symbols in a folder and updated the pics, but it WILL NOT show up on the table still.
Lemme know if you have any thoughts.

I keep mine under the happy frog (30/1). I never see it, I think the teeth creep people out.
You can do this on Mac clients too.
Go to the application folder and control-click, then Show Package contents.
You should find what you need from there.
I made mine match my Avatar here, I wish I was creative enough to come up with something better.

do i have to switch my avatar to confused every time i play? i couldn't switch emotions on my mac, which is where i play a good percentage of the time.
LJ: I'm going to have to get a ruling from somebody who plays Macs on the file structure. I've never seen FTP on a Mac. It sounds to me as though you don't get all the images in the Mac GUI.
That might mean this won't work for the rest of us trying to view you, and you wouldn't be able to see us. I'm not sure.

i saved the image as a replacement for the afro dude. the problem is that when i ctrl-clicked (the equivalent of right clicking on pc) it doesn't give me the option of changing my emotion. i asked skidoo and i'm going to try playing around w/ mouse preferences

To clarify the folder structure on a mac...
Right click (control-click) on the Full Tilt Poker Application, then Select "Show Package Contents" Navigate to Contents> Public> Resources> Graphics> Table> Avatars> Public Files 1-63 are there.
It seems to me that the FTP for Mac updates a lot more than the PS client. You will need to keep a backup of the customized files to replace every time the software updates.
I used to change tables, chipsets and avatars all the time. You guys should keep an updated copy of everyones avatar in a 'spare' Public folder as you keep updating them.
If you HAPPEN to come up with something for me, I'll take the confused ATM. hint hint.

Okay, that worked rather poorly. How about just clicking my avatar and then clicking "view full size". That will get you to the same place as I intended to link above.
I was thinking of a yin yang with 23skidoo shaded behind/inside of it. I'll see if I can take some time with photoshop this weekend and come up with a prototype.
If I have time I'll also see about making an easy installer for all the avs.
